Tom is a mechanical building services engineer with over 35 years consultancy-based experience.
Tom joined Delap & Waller in 2004 and became an Associate in 2007. He has in-depth experience of design and project management across a wide range of building types including Industrial, Commercial, Healthcare, Civic, Retail and Residential sectors.
His key strengths include an extensive engineering background covering the full range of mechanical and sustainable building services and in-depth knowledge and experience in the delivery of projects. Tom’s role is to lead, manage and motivate a team of mechanical design engineers for the delivery of projects ‘on time and on budget’. His meticulous approach to the design process is adopted on each project that he gets involved in, maintaining a close working relationship with his clients to achieve their objectives and the best solution for the scheme.
His knowledge and experience of low carbon design solutions has been demonstrated on a number of recent projects have achieved BREEAM ‘Excellent’ or LEED ‘GOLD’ ratings. Renewable and sustainable technologies used on these projects included Heat Recovery and Mixed-Mode Ventilation, Biomass Boilers, Solar Collectors, and Rainwater recycling.
Tom has acted as an Expert Witness in several legal cases where he has provided independent advice on technical issues and design and installation responsibilities.
