The project was refurbishment of an existing hospital building to create a new patients block ‘L’. Delap and Waller was appointed to complete the building services design, in accordance with health technical memorandums (HTMS), of this new patient block.

Main duties were to provide a complete deign of compressed air services, air conditioning and mechanical ventilation services, boilers and auxiliary plant, building management system, calorifiers, cold water services, cooling water services, above ground drainage, electrical distribution services, electric lighting and power installations, electrical substations, electric generation plant and systems, electric sub-stations and switchgear, energy management systems, fire detection and alarm systems, fire protection services, fuel gas incoming supply and distribution systems, heating installations, hot water services, IM&T flood wiring, incoming electrical supplies, information technology (IT) systems, intruder detection and alarm systems, lifts hoists and escalators, lightning protection services, M&E services to medical equipment, medical gas services, medical vacuum services, nurse call system, pneumatic tube system, power operated louvers, public address, personnel location and call services, public health and plumbing services, radio and TV reception services, steam services and condensate return, water filtration and treatment systems. The project was completed in 2008.
