PRIMARK – Fort Kinnaird Retail Park, Edinburgh
Delap & Waller were appointed by Primark to provide Engineering Services Consultancy on their behalf to ensure that the appointed Design & Build Contractor was sufficiently briefed to deliver a new retail store to their expectations.
Our role was initially to provide the Retail Park development team with the detailed shell and core plant spaces, major builders work openings and full incoming utilities requirements prior to the appointment of the Primark Design & Build Contract team.
Our next duty was to provide concept designs backed up with performance specifications for tendering purposes. This concept was to ensure that the systems could be accommodated and that the systems were fully compliant with Scottish Building Regulations 2013.
The concept design provided an innovative displacement ventilation and air conditioning system which was fully integrated with the retail layouts. This included customer services, cash and wrap and fitting room complexes which are considered “hot spot” areas where cooling and ventilation must be tightly controlled.
Our services concept design package included HVAC for both Retail & Back of House areas heating.
