Extension to and Refurbishment of Existing Secondary School
This project involved the design and construction of a new two storey extension to the existing school and the replacement of the majority of the existing services in the original school building.
Delap & Waller provided complete Mechanical and Electrical design and supervision services for the new two storey extension which included design of the deputy principal’s office, a word processing room, a music / drama room, a design / graphics room, 3 new science laboratories, 16 new classrooms, 4 CES language rooms, 4 learning support rooms, a new staff room and the development of a new, stand alone engineering block comprising a new construction studies / architectural technologies room, a new metalwork room, a new engineering technology room and new wood / technology machining prep area.
Also included was a full redesign of all services in the original school block including services for the wood work room, home economics kitchens and art rooms. The Mechanical and Electrical refurbishment works to the existing school building had to occur in a live campus environment, so all installations took place after school hours and the school facilities were handed back for use each morning.
This project was delivered approximately 9 months ahead of schedule.
