Dublin City Library
This project involved the Refurbishment of the existing library and national archive at Pearse Street and the addition of a 2000m² extension.
This historic building was closed during the works with the existing interior gutted and fully refurbished while retaining its original architectural character.
The extension now houses a series of archive rooms housing many historic documents. These rooms are heavily serviced with close control air conditioning units, water detection, fire suppression and rack lighting.
All room conditions are monitored via critical alarms on the BMS. The extension also houses a large new public reading room accessed via a feature glass lift.
The original section of the building retains its original use as a library.
