The client brief was to provide a purpose-built facility for the Barristers of Northern Ireland. The building design also incorporates supporting accommodation to house the DPP
The building was designed as two five-storey buildings built around their own atria. Sculptural planes of stone, brick and glass float past each other echoing the adjacent Royal Courts of Justice whilst helping to reduce the mass. The architecture and building services design successfully married the aspirations of the Bar members who preferred the atmosphere of the old traditional Bar Library with the desire for a more modern approach from the younger members"
Delap & Waller's brief was to provide a state of the art client fit-out to provide a modern comfortable internal environment. The latest thinking in open-desk and library facilities was utilised.
